The first ever time RM Leopad Melaka Branch celebrated the Pongal festival on 14th of January 2010 in a mood of goodwill and happiness. Non-Indian staff and workers joined with their Indian counterparts on this day, which is a significant day in the Tamil calendar.
The day started as early as 6 am with all RM leopad employees slowly gathering at our stockyard at Tangga Batu Melaka. The moment of climax was the spill over of the boiled milk, which is a propitious symbol of abundance, a sign of prosperity.
After prayers were completed, the rice cooked in the boiled milk was served to everyone, together with other traditional Indian food.
There was no barrier of age, language or race in our Pongal celebration. We hope this celebration brings the harbinger of good luck, success and prosperity to not only RM Leopad Melaka Branch, but generally to Leopad Group as a whole
