Penamaan Waris KWSP
Group SHE Dept New Year Message
My 2010 New Year greetings to all.
As we look back at our Safety Statistic and records for the year 2009, we can be proud of it as we are definately making progress in our performance. Even though there was one Lost Time Accident ( fatality ), which was more of an individual's careless mistake, the overall result is a good achievement. Still, there is more work to be done because ONE INJURY on the job is still ONE TOO MANY.
I would like to emphasize that while preventing accidents and incidents is every company's LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY and, I believe, a MORAL OBLIGATION, Safety and Health also makes GOOD BUSINESS SENSE. Please be reminded that workplace accidents and incidents will cost a company some financial loss. These costs affect every man, woman and child - every employee, every employer and every family member.
May I share with you, fellow managers and safety personnel, my ideas in developing a simple but good Safety,Health & Environmental plan by considering several actions, such as:
* Defining a framework of Action that will lead to a strategic approach for strengthening our Safety, Health &
Environmental ( SHE ) Management system through planned program.
* Identifying the elements of the planned program that promote a safety culture, strengthens the SHE management
system, and have objectives and targets.
* Harmonizing the SHE management system through promotion and advocacy, legislation, inspection and knowledge.
* Developing strategies on prevention of work-related injuries and illness, and promoting health of workers.
* Integrating SHE in all our business dealings.
Safety, Health & Environment MUST become everybody's concern and cannot remain the responsibility of a selected few only. This is my view.
Thank you all and I assure my full support in your plans in advancing the cause of work safety and health in your place. Wishing you all a successfull and progressive New Year - 2010 .

USE SOCSO COUNSELLORS, CLAIMANT TOLD
Source By : Selvanathan
15 October 2009 (the star) KUALA LUMPUR: Despite efforts by the Social Security Organisation (Socso) to weed out middlemen, many people are still seeking their services, Human Resources Minister Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam said. Contributors, he said, should deal directly with Socso counsellors, who have been placed at the Socso head office and branches in Petaling Jaya, Ipoh, Penang, Seremban and Johor Baru. Dr Subramaniam said in a statement that the counsellors would assist contributors to apply for social protection via Socso’s Employment Injury Insurance and Invalidity Pension Schemes. A Socso official said they had previously detected about 500 fraudulent claims by contributors and third parties using false identity cards. In some cases, workers and employers colluded to make the claims, he said. He said middlemen or agents would charge up to 30% commission when making claims on behalf of contributors, mostly those from the lower income group who are not well versed with the procedures. There have also been complaints that they had filed false claims for Socso members and used fake medical reports to get invalidity pensions approved, he added |
